The International Day of Happiness was founded on June 28, 2012, when the UN General Assembly adopted UN resolution 66/281 by consensus of all 193 member states. 

Now, the International Day of Happiness is celebrated worldwide every March 20th, thanks in large part to the global partners around the world who share and spread happiness as global badging partners. 

The International Day of Happiness Logo “Helios,” which means “sun” in Greek, symbolizes the unlimited potential of humanity to achieve happiness for the entire human family. Helios was donated by a world-renowned artist, and IDOH is proud to share it through global badging partnerships. 

How to become a badging partner and express solidarity with the global happiness movement:

1) Insert the “Helios” logo and/or “Helios” logo plus the “International Day of Happiness logo on the front page of your website. Alternatively, insert it in a new “partners’ section of your site or similar. 

2) Optional: Include a brief message that says “We at ____ are happy to be partners in the worldwide movement to spread happiness to all. UN resolution 66/281 establishes the International Day of Happiness as March 20th every year, recognizing the pursuit of happiness as a fundamental human right and goal, and universal aspiration in the lives of all human beings.
